More information on the speakers and the location:

Dr. Kees den Biesen was a fellow friar and right hand man of Dom Hans van der Laan. After studying Theology and Philosophy he was promoted on the subject of Ephrem the Syrian.

He will approach the theme from the Benedictine context in which Van der Laan lived and worked on one hand, and from his personal experiences and vision on Van der Laan on the other hand.

Gerhard Brüggemann is one of the founders of the Amsterdam Studygroup and a member of the Board of the Foundation.

From his teaching position as meditation and Zen teacher and following the course he gives on 13 masters including Lao-Tse, the Buddha, Krisnamurti and Jesus Christ, he will explain his vision on Van der Laan’s “Way of Life” from the Eastern Philosophy. Van der Laan will also be discussed in his course as one of the 13 masters.

The building is fully accessible by wheelchair and is located opposite the Scheepvaart Museum.
