cell, court and domain of the abbey in Vaals
Click on the arrow which appears at the bottom right corner of the window to see how the abbey Sint Benedictusberg in Vaals had been built up. The starting point is the building which Van der Laan was going to expand. The monastery was designed by German architects Dominic Boehm and Martin Weber. The second image shows how the building should have been completed: with a large church and a round tower. Next is the design of Van der Laan’s additions. Another click reveals the construction of the cells and corridors in red, the courts in yellow and the domain in green. The domain lies on the hill where the monastery is built, confined by woodland and hedges.Cell, court and domain of the abbey in Vaals >> (Zelle - Hof - Domäne)
